Jihad Beijjani, the chip leader for Day 1B and entering Day 2 is out of the main event.
From a chip stack as high as 197,700 to start the day, we saw Jihad Beijjani from the cut-off move all-in with his final 68,000 and was up against Mandeep Narang who called from the big blind.
Baijjani: A♠ 7♣
Narang: A♦ J♦
Baijjani was dominated and the board 10♠ 3♣ Q♥ 2♦ K♥ even gave Narang an unnecessary straight. Narang climbs to 170,000 in chips after ousting the Lebanese.
On a flop of 9♦ 2♦ 3♣ Marc Rivera moved all-in with 3♠ 3♥. Tan Gay Peng fell for the overbet as the latter only had 10♣ 10♦.
Turn 4♥ and river 7♥ was safe for Rivera, who returns to a more manageable chip-stack with 330,000.
Peng falls to below 100,000 in chips.
Jerry Lai’s pocket nines ousted another player in a preflop all-in. Board read 5♠ J♣ A♣ 3♦ J♦ and the short-stacked player couldn’t pair his overcards K♦ Q♦.
Lai climbs to roughly 400,000
Lester Edoc has just ousted another player and more importantly, upped his chip-haul to over 500,000.
Homan Houshiar moved all in with 10♦ 10♠ but unfortunately for him, Edoc was just waiting for some short stack to make that move with his pocket aces.
No miracle bad beat on a board of K♠ Q♦ 4♦ 8♠ 3♥ and Houshiar’s main event campaign is over.
Meanwhile, Edoc continues his run to the top of the leaderboard with roughly 530,000 in chips.
With the action folded to the them, small blind Kim Enriquez shoved hisstack still worth around 70,000 but saw the big blind with the quick call for a blinds showdown.
Bad news for Enriquez who only had 10♠ 8♠ and was up against the big blind’s (Victorino Torres) A♠ Q♦.
The flop K♦ 4♠ 10♦ gave Enriquez the lead but the turn J♣ gave it right back to Torres, who made the straight. Drawing dead on the river 3♠, Enriquez gets booted out late in Day 2.
Torres upped to 200,000 in chips after the great call.
Srinivas Polishetty has just doubled-up off Lester Edoc.
Involved in a preflop all-in with one of the chip leaders so far, Poloshetty’s 10♠ 10♣ needed to hold against Edoc’s A♥ Q♠.
The flop 10♦ 2♥ K♥ provided new outs for Edoc but it did not come on the turn 2♣ and river 7♣ and Srinivas doubles to over 55,000.
Edoc still has a giant stack with roughly 422,000.
In a previous post, we reported of a certain Aussie rising to the top of the heap with 400K chips. Lester Edoc won’t be outdone and did his thing to get to that mark too:
On a flop of J♣ Q♣ 5♥ and a pot of around 24,000, Lester Edoc opened to 8,000 and saw his opponent re-pop 20,000 more. Edoc three-bet with an additional 45,000, opponent moved all-in and Edoc made the call for a HUGE showdown.
Edoc: 10♣ 8♣
Cut-Off Player: Q♠ 10♠
Immediately, Edoc got his flush on the turn K♣ and the opponent was already drawing dead by the river 5♣.
Edoc is seriously stacking up those chips now and from our estimate he’s around the half-million mark.
