Ward’s bullying ways before bubble time has paid off in this hand.
On a raised flop 6♦ 7♠ J♣, Ken Garcia bet 17,000 but saw Ward re-pop to 46,000. Garcia meant business, perhaps had had enough of Ward’s bullying in previous hands, shoved all of his stack totaling to about 200,000. Ward called showing a legit 7♣ 7♦ and was up against Garcia’s A♣ K♣!
Turn Q♦ gave Garcia a straight draw but no ten came on the river Q♥. Garcia is out and Ward climbs to 960,000– about quadruple the average chip average!
