APT Asian Poker Series Manila 2015 Main Event

Day 1A is Over!

Level: 8 Blinds: 250-500 Ante: 50

52 left out of the original 107 who signed up for Day 1A of the APT Asian Poker Series Manila 2015 Main Event. The Philippines’ Noel Araniel, who reportedly had six pocket aces and three pocket kings today, is the leader with 106,900 in chips.

Although we did not catch all of Araniel’s hands, his tablemates have confirmed that indeed his run of premium starting hands was true and the major reason why he was able to reach the century mark.

The chip counts and recap of Day 1A in the APT front page in a bit! See you again tomorrow for Day 1B Live Updates.

Araniel shows 10 10 for flopped fullhouse and climbs to about 107,000!

At Risk, Patni Puts the Pressure on Kalaquian

Level: 8 Blinds: 250-500 Ante: 50

With a healthy pot already brewing in the middle and a board of 2 4 5 5, Kunal Patni shoved his final 20,600 to put Elmer Kalaquian, one of the players with the bigger stacks, in the pressure cooker.

Kalaquian tanked and tanked and eventually someone had to call for time… 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5… and the Filipino just can’t make the call even with the big stack. Patni survives without a showdown and adds the nice pot to his stack.

Weis’ River Shove Scares Corpuz

Level: 8 Blinds: 250-500 Ante: 50

On a turned board of 7 4 9 2, Martin Corpuz check reraised Felix Weis’ 2,000 bet. Weis made the call to bring the river 5. Corpuz opened for 12,000 this time but saw Weis move over the top for 18,000…  Corpuz folded!

Arce Busts Out Again

Level: 8 Blinds: 250-500 Ante: 50

Holding the Big Slick, Neil Arce was all-in and was at risk against st Marcus Liow, who had 10 10.

Flop K 10 6  did show a king but gave Liow a set. Arce was drawing dead by the turn 4 and the river 7 officially busts him out from Day 1A.

We’re down to 53 players.

Bringley’s Post-Flop Shove Too Hot for Patni

Level: 8 Blinds: 250-500 Ante: 50

With a nice pot in the middle and a flop of 2 6 Q, Gerard Bringly shoved all of his chips worth exactly 23,700. Kunal Patni tanked for a long time and eventually folded his hand– flashing a queen to the table.

Ty’s Bullets

Level: 7 Blinds: 200-400 Ante: 50

Flop: J 3 J

Lester Edoc fired 1,050 but Del Ty wanted more and raised to 2,600. Edoc tanked for a bit but gave up the pot.

Ty shows A A but can’t earn more from his bullets.

No Weis Caller on Check-Raise

Level: 7 Blinds: 200-400 Ante: 50

Felix Weis check re-raised the flop A 7 A after a bet from the hi-jack of 2,000 and a call from Iori Yogo. Both the HJ and Yogo gave up and Weis wins a nice pot.
