Final 8 Set as Pangan Ousts Bansal in 9th Place (PHP 334,700)

Level: 24 Blinds: 10000-20000 Ante: 3000

On the flop A 6 2, Luke Pangan bet 30,000 and got a call from Paawan Bansal. On the turn 10, Pangan check-called (snap!) Bansal’s 46,000 bet. On the river 3, Pangan checked again and faced an all-in from Bansal for 102,000! Pangan tanked… and called!

Great call from Pangan, who called with 10 5 beating Bansal’s 7 2!

Our final eight is set! Bansal ends up in 9th place for PHP 334,700.

Thomas Ward Settles for 10th Place (PHP 281,800)

Level: 24 Blinds: 10000-2000 Ante: 3000

A hand after doubling-up with an improbable hit, Thomas Ward couldn’t do it again in what would be his final hand.

Ward: Q 9
Yah Loon: K Q

Flop: 8 K 7
Turn: 3
River: 7

And our New Zealander is out of the main event in 10th place for PHP 281,800.

Kiwi Stayin’ Alive

Level: 24 Blinds: 10000-20000 Ante: 3000

Le Ngok Khanh opened to 50,000 and Thomas Ward shoved his final 73,000. Easy call for Le.

Ward: K 9
Le: K J

Thomas Ward stays alive when the nine arrives on the flop 4 9 A and the turn/river 6 Q confirmed his double up to about 150,000.

Hui vs. Bansal

Level: 24 Blinds: 10000-20000 Ante: 3000

Paawan Bansal opened to 44,000 and Yao Hui reraised to 120,000. Bansal won’t commit just yet and gets away from this one.

Zhang Climbs, Ward Drops (to Shortest Stack)-Zhang Weiyi重返巅峰!

Level: 24 Blinds: 10000-20000 Ante: 3000

From one of the short-stacked players entering the final table of 10 to one of the chip leaders: Weiyi Zhang.

Weiyi Zhang以较少筹码入局十人桌,但在以下回合之后将筹码翻番,坐上筹码王的宝座。

The Chinese opened to 50,000 preflop and got re-raised by Thomas Ward to 125,000 from across the table. Zhang moved all-in (total 601,000) and Ward called!

中国选手Zhang Weiyi 在翻牌前下注50,000得到新西兰选手Thomas Ward的再次加注到125,000,随后Zhang All In:601,000,Ward 跟注

Zhang: K K
Ward: Q Q

Ward was in a world of trouble, needing a lady to win this hand and none came on the board A 4 7 8 4 to put the Kiwi in a world of hurt, and down to less than 100,000. Zhang climbs to over 1.2M.

公共牌 A 4 7 8 4对双方底牌都无实质性帮助,最后Zhang以手牌胜出,筹码返回逾一百二十万。

More Losses for Kim

Level: 24 Blinds: 10000-20000 Ante: 3000

On a board of 3 9 10 3, SJ Kim check-raised Yah Loon’s 45,000 bet to 115,000. Loon called and the dealer put the river 10

Both checked, Kim showed K J and Yah Loon tabled 7 7– good enough to win the pot.

Hui vs. Kim

Level: 24 Blinds: 10000-20000 Ante: 3000

Yao Hui opened 50,000 preflop and saw SJ Kim re-raise to 120,000. Hui called to bring the flop 9 J J. Hui check-called Kim’s 115,000 bet and both checked the turn 7 and river 10.

Hui showed 8 8 for the straight and Kim mucked his hand.

Bansal Stays

Level: 23 Blinds: 8000-16000 Ante: 2000

Facing a 50,000 raise from Jun Javalera, Paawan Bansal re-raised to 152,000 total– or all of his chips. Javalera called to put Bansal at risk:

Javalera: A K
Bansal: A 10

Bansal needed a ten to survive and it came on the turn on the board Q Q 4 10 8.

Bansal doubles through, to 320,000 or so.
