Li Min Jie tops Main Event Day 1A; Jack Hu wins the SHR, Cheung Chung Ching lands the Dream

Another wall-to-wall day at the inaugural APT Taiwan 2019 taking place at CTP Club (Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association) in Taipei City with multiple events filling up every space and seat in the the house. Under the spotlight was the featured tournament, the MAIN EVENT – TWD 5 Million guaranteed – with the first of three starting days claiming a majority of the room.

Joining were resuming events from yesterday’s opener, the Dream Maker and the Super High Rollers with 8 remaining on each of those. We’ve got recaps and results for you below on all of those events. 

Main Event Day 1A

Day 1A of the Main Event attracted 76 entrants of which 35 survived the scheduled 8 rounds. Bagging up the chip lead of 134,500 was China’s Li Min Jie

Trailing very close behind the leader was UK”s Alex Ward with 131,300. Ward is a decorated APT Main Event champion having won the title back in 2016 in Cebu, Philippines.

Super High Rollers: NAI YUAN HU

Nai Yuan Hu (Jack)

The Super High Rollers event wrapped up with Taiwan’s Jack Nai Yuan Hu rising above a high caliber field of 19 entries. He entered the final 8 race with the chip lead then successfully navigated the very tough terrain to reach victory. Hu defeated Hong Kong’s Park Yu Cheung aka Sparrow at heads up. The event streamed live in APT Twitch where you can review and relive the action.

The two-day Dream Maker event achieved its purpose, low buy-in and a sweet bankroll for the top 5% of the field. Awarded the thickest wad was Hong Kong’s Cheung Chung Ching for his victory. He cleared TWD 265,200 after a three-way deal.

The Main Event runs a course of six days, from today, February 21 to February 26. Buy-in is TWD 33,000. Cards in the air daily at 1pm.

Each starting day will play 8 levels. Each level runs 60 minutes. Registration closes at the start of level 10 in Day 2.
