HomeIn March, Lester Edoc dominated the first edition of the APT Philippines Championships 2018 series at Resorts World Manila winning the Main Event and finishing runner-up at the Championships Event. Today, the Filipino pro once again showed who’s boss. He eliminated every player at the final four of the CoinPoker Super High Rollers to add a new title to his long list of career achievements.

The CoinPoker SHR event began yesterday with a total of 10 entries – 7 unique, 3 re-entries – each one coughing up the PHP500K buy-in for a hefty prize pool of PHP4,845,700. Three players busted out on the first day: Andrew Nguyen, Satoshi Ikeda, and two-time APT Main Event champion / WSOP bracelet winner Mike Takayama. Interestingly, these were the three players that re-entered. Action resumed today with four players back at the felt. Only two of them stood to earn a payout.
Kicking it off, Canada’s Kirk Steele entered with the largest stack however within half an hour, he was quickly down to the shortest. One of the biggest pots he lost was against Edoc. On a board of 5♠ 7♣ Q♦ 10♣ 10♥, Steele called a huge bet by Edoc and mucked after seeing the 5♣ 10♦ full house.
With 12bbs remaining, Steele was able to double up through Japan’s Kota Nakano who in turn became short stacked and was bounced out by Edoc.

It didn’t take long for the bubble to burst with Edoc eliminating Steele. Edoc’s A♣ Q♣ found an ace on the turn to defeat Steele’s J♠ J♥.

This brought on the heads up round between Edoc and Filipino high stakes player Marc Rivera with the former up 3:1 in chips.

Both players quickly agreed on a deal to boost up 2nd place prize money to PHP2.1M and the rest to 1st place. Edoc went on to win it with K♣ 10♣ reigning over K♠ 4♦ on a final board of K♦ 4♣ 10♥ J♦ Q♠.
