Kurita Off to Cebu with win at the 6th TPT

The 6th season of the Tokyo Poker Tour (TPT) ended last December 25, 2010 at the Tokyo Women’s Plaza where 180 runners bid for the TPT championship. Aside from the cash, also at stake were prizes ranging from Korea and Macau tour packages, poker jackets and t-shirts, poker books and most importantly, an Asian Poker Tour Asian Series Cebu Main Event seat.

At the end of the day-long affair when a lot of other players were not able to play because the tables were full , it was Ms. Yu Kurita who earned the trip to Cebu and to compete in the inaugural edition of the APT Asian Series set from the 10th to 17th of January next year.

Kurita, who hails from Tokyo, Japan, is considered one of the best female pros from Asia owing to her 13th place finish at the 41st World Series of Poker (WSOP) Ladies Championship event earlier this year. She has also placed in the money twice in international events in Macau.

Expected to join the Japanese pro at the APT Asian Series Cebu are representatives from the TPT as they hope to find success in Cebu.
