Dang entered the Main Event during the final hour of late registration in Day 2 then came into radar on the last level when she scored a huge pot off Thomas Lind. Her 2 6 improved to trips twos to catapult her straight to the top. By the end of the heat,  she was chip leader, ahead of her closest contender vy a whopping 44 BB. On Day 3, Dang continued to crush the competition, becoming the first player to amass over a million stack. Among the players she railed were Tom Pham, Pham Dat, and Ngo Minh Tien. She closed the day running third in chips.

Down to the Final 8, Dang watched as chip leader Cao Ngoc Anh caused damage to nearly everyone’s stacks. After the fall of Singapore’s Tan Tong in 8th place, Cao eliminated France’s Jules Blondel (7th) and Thailand’s Benjamin Schoepfer (6th) for an all Vietnamese race to the crown. Day 1C chip leader Truong Vu Tran Khanh cleaned out Minh Nguyen (5th) then it was Cao again, shipping all of Nguyen Quang Huy‘s chips. This gave him well over half of the chips in play.

Despite his commanding stack, Cao had difficulty at three-handed, especially against Truong. On their second heated clash, Truong claimed a massive pot to seize control for the first time at the final table. Cao continued to head south and was eliminated in 3rd place by Truong. This brought about heads up with Truong leading 73 BB to Dang’s 21 BB.

It was at this stage that Dang outshined. She crushed Truong in just 15 heads up hands. On the very first hand, she doubled up with pocket Queens overpair to Truong’s midpair. Eight hands later, she dragged in another big pot then followed it up with a defining straight over top pair to cripple Truong down to just 8 BB. It didn’t take long for Dang to close it out with J 6 straight over 10 Q top pair on a final board 7 4 10 5 3. This was Dang’s largest known live win and maiden victory.
