First time APT side event winners: Sung Woon Park, Poi Chen, & Dave Spencer

The APT Taiwan 2019 awards table is thinning out here at Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association. Another three trophies were claimed, all of them first time APT winners. We’ve got the latest results below. For everyone that cashed, make sure to check your standing in the APT Player of the Series race.

No Limit Hold’em – Sung Woon Park – TWD 176,600 (~USD 5,800)

The two-day No Limit Hold’em event attracted 73 to the scene at TWD 9,900 (~USD 325) each for a prize pool of TWD 637,300 (~USD 20,800). 13 players dipped in the pot. Claiming the largest chunk of TWD 176,600 was Korea’s Sung Woon Park after defeating fellow countryman Sun Seungman at heads up. This was Park’s first-ever live tournament victory.

Deep Stack Turbo: Poi Chen – TWD 71,000 (~USD 2,300)

The Deep Stack Turbo saw 61 entries toss in the TWD 5,500 (~USD 180) buy-in. Just past midnight, the winner emerged. After a heads up deal was struck, Taiwan’s Poi Chen was awarded his first-ever live tournament victory and earned TWD 71,000 (~USD 2,300). Runner-up Gary Thompson also pocketed the same figure. The event paid 11 spots out of the TWD 295,600 (~USD 9,700) prize pool.

55 turned up for Saturday evening’s Deep Stack Turbo and at TWD 5,500 each, the players battled for a piece of the TWD 266,700 (~USD 8,700) prize pool. In the end 10 players were paid with Dave Spencer shipping it for a pocketful TWD 78,900. This was Spencer’s first-ever APT title.
