HomeAPT Taiwan 2019 is a wrap! Thank you to everyone that came out to support us and the CTP Club Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association. Thank you as well to all the staff for all of their hard work in keeping everything in flow. The festival was an incredible success! From start to finish, the room was packed daily with record breaking numbers on both of our featured events.
The Main Event drew the largest-seen prize pool in Taiwan’s blossoming poker scene. 523 entries at TWD 33,000 each, which was the highest Main Event buy-in ever offered in the country. The prize pool amounted to TWD 15,219,300 (USD 493,000). Hong Kong’s Chow Cliff won it and pocketed TWD 2,443,800.
The Championships Event also set a new tour record of 288 entries and at TWD 49,500 apiece came a prize pool of TWD 12,571,200 (USD 407,300). Emerging victorious was China’s Chen Dong, taking home a handsome cash prize of TWD 2,955,000.

Tallying up the festival, 28 countries were represented, over 700 unique players, 3251 entries, and an overall prize pool of TWD 65,200,000.
The Asian Poker Tour would like to invite everyone to our next event – APT Philippines I 2019 with PHP 22 Million in guaranteed prizes. The event takes place at partner and host venue Resorts World Manila in Newport City, Pasay, Philippines. It runs from April 24 to May 5. This is one of the tour’s biggest annual event and most popular so mark your calendars! It is not to be missed! Both featured events come with a PHP 10 Million guarantee: Main Event buy-in is PHP 55,000 and Championships Event buy-in is PHP 82,500. See you there!

APT Player of the Series winners
To close out APT Taiwan 2019, three players were acknowledged for topping the APT Player of the Series standings.
1st place: Lau King Lun Alan
Lau King Lun Alan
Hong Kong pro Lau King Lun Alan won the APT Player of the Series title with 1,186.43 points accrued. He didn’t champion any of the events but he got very close in a few big ones.

- High Rollers Single Day 1 – 2nd place
Lau was awarded the APT Player of the Series champion trophy, POS Ring, an exclusive watch, and USD 800.
2nd place: Lok Gino
Lok Gino
Canada’s Lok Gino had a superb series with 6 cashes throughout. One of them brought home a victory. For his outstanding performance, he accrued 975.40 points. He placed 2nd at the Player of the Series race. Gino was awarded a POS trophy and USD 100.

Jeonggyu Cho
Finishing 3rd highest was Korea’s Jeonggyu Cho with 969.82. Cho cashed in five events to claim the POS trophy and USD 100.

High Rollers 2: ZHANG CHANGJIE
Zhang Changjie
The TWD 65,000 buy-in High Rollers 2 event got started a day late and still it pulled in a decent field of 54 runners for a prize pool of TWD 3,142,800. When it came down to the final two players, Zhang Changjie had a substantial chip lead over Chan Tsun Ming. Ming was able to double up once but that was all. Zhang went on to win it to capture the APT Golden Lion trophy and the TWD 859,500 first prize. 9 players got paid in this event.
Monster Stack: JAMES JAGGER
James Jagger
158 stormed in for the two-day Monster Stack event. This was the largest side event turnout of the series. With the buy-in at TWD 16,500 each, a very healthy prize pool of TWD 2,298,900 was created. 27 players got paid with UK’s James Jagger taking it down. Jagger defeated Kepeng Li at heads up to secure his first-ever APT Golden Lion and the TWD 530,200 top prize.
High Rollers Single Day 2: JIA TANG

The last High Rollers event of the series was a single day affair on the final day of the festival. 54 runners ponied up the TWD 54,000 buy-in for a pot of TWD 2,619,000. 9 players earned cuts but it was China’s Jia Tang who stole the show. He claimed the top prize TWD 795,800 after defeating Japan’s Kosaku Akashi at heads up.
Deep Stack Hyper Turbo: HIROYUKI NODA
Hiroyuki Noda
The Deep Stack Hyper Turbo filled up plenty seats on the final day of the series with 81 entries. Buy-in was TWD 5,500 for a prize pool of TWD 392,800. That figure was divvied up among the top 14 players with Japan’s Hiroyuki Noda pocketing the lion’s share TWD 106,800.
