Events Today: Main Event Warm-Up and NLH Welcome Event Final 8

Action continues at the APT Kickoff 2017!

The Asian Poker Tour kicks off another exciting day of poker at Resorts World Manila with the APT Kickoff 2017 on its second day. The festival is scheduled to run for nine days, from January 11th-19th, with a total of 18 side events and the highlight tournament, the US$1,650 buy-in APT Main Event.

With the main still two days away, there is one side event that offers a taste of what’s to come, the Main Event Warm-Up, which kicks off at 1pm today. Last December, the APT added this event to the roster with players given the same starting stack of 50,000 in chips and the same Main Event structure. There is one big difference though; the blinds increase every 30 minutes instead of every 60 minutes. Keep in mind that this is scheduled as a two-day event. Buy-in is US$440.

At 5pm, the first of three Main Event satellites gets underway, the Main Event Mega Satellite. For players looking to get into the highlight event at a discount, this is your possible ticket. Buy-in for the satellite is US$180 with unlimited re-entries allowed just before round 5. To give players more time at the felt, the starting stack was boosted up to 5,000 as compared to the previous 3,000. Structure remains the same. One seat will be awarded per ten players. Winners can only use their seats at Day 1A of the Main Event.

First day of APT Kick Off attracts a huge crowd

The NLH Welcome Event resumes today with the Final 8 players getting a first crack at the RFID table this year. The event saw a total of 120 entries for a prize pool of US$17,460. The eventual winner will be scooping up a payout of US$4,460. Leading the pack is Filipino Allan Daypuyart with 284,500 in chips. Daypuyart took the lead well before the bubble burst and held on until bagging time. Check out the action of the Final 8 as we broadcast it in the APT Twitch channel with a 30 minute delay.
