Cheng Chao Ting wins the No Limit Hold’em 1

The two-day NT$ 9,900 buy-in No Limit Hold’em 1 had a strong turnout of 124 entries for a prize pool of NT$ 1,082,500 (~US$ 35,400). 21 players got paid after the bubble burst with Song Daewoong claiming Choi Eng Loong‘s short stack. Choi pushed with K Q, Song with A 10 that held.

From there the game trimmed down quickly. The final 8 was formed when Iori Yogo and Kristof Segers busted simultaneously at separate tables. They split the 9th and 10th place money.  The final 8 players was then formed led by New Caledonian Joseph Cona

Despite Cona’s heavy arsenal of 58 bbs, he was the first to drop in 8th place. Following Cona was Song in 7th place who also had a very large stack of 49 bbs. It eventually reached heads up at the fall of Joshua Tan Soo Tuan in 3rd place. According to the players, Tan shoved three times and wasn’t called. On his fourth shove, James Leong called with K-3 while Tuan opened up pocket queens. The cards favored Leong as it ran 6-8-K-9-3.  Leong entered heads up even stacked to Cheng Chao Ting.

The final duel ran for some time. Cheng outlasted Leong and eventually dragged in all the chips to his section. The final hand was Cheng A 7, Leong 4 8, the final board showed 5 A 6 K 4. Cheng captured his first-ever APT victory and NT$ 234,300 (~US$ 7,700) for his largest live score.
