Championships Event Final 8 race to the crown starts at 12pm; last four side event trophies up for grabs

After twelve days of nonstop poker, the APT Summer Festival Hanoi – VSOP 2022 is on its final day. On center stage is the conclusion of the record breaking Championships Event with the Final 8 race kicking off at 12pm. Come on over and cheer them on or you can also watch the action via the live stream on APT YouTube and APT Twitch

The player with the best chance of taking the crown is India’s Deepak Bothra who enters with a massive 74 BB stack. This is Bothra’s first ever APT featured event final table. Prior to his deep run here, Bothra cashed at two of the festival’s turbo events, and no matter where he finishes today, it will be his biggest APT cash.  Two other players will also be flying India flags, Zarvan Tumboli and Shardul Parthasarathi. At the previous APT Hanoi festival both players made headlines for their accomplishments. Shardul championed the Main Event and Tumboli snatched up two side event wins. In addition, Shardul is the only player in the lineup who has reached an APT featured event final table.

Bringing in the second biggest stack is the lone New Zealander Slade Fisher who delivered the Final 8 bubble. Fisher has already gone further than his Main Event 24th place finish. He also has one APT side event title which he won back in 2014. One of the biggest international contingents at the series is Singapore and looking to bring it home is Kevin Lim. Prior to his event, Lim reached the final table of the No Limit Hold’em event for his first ever APT cash. He is in fine shape, ranked third in chips. Two Vietnam players are wedged in the middle of the pack, Chien Than and Dong Van Tan. Than cashed at the Main Event in 19th place while Tan will be earning his first ever APT payout in this event. Down the rung in ranked seventh is the lone Korean flag-bearer Minho Cho who claimed his first ever APT cash at the No Limit Hold’em Single Day event in 11th place.
