Bubble has burst in Main Event, 73 now ITM

HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam – The irony of this particular Bubble is that it involved two gentlemen whose names were actually mentioned in the previous update as Francis Garson of France—who entered Day 3 fourth in chips—is officially knocked out of the tournament by Vietnam’s Dinh Xuan Dinh—the fifth placer heading into this phase—to now assure the 73 players remaining at least VND37,960,000.00 (US$1,632.00) and still be on pace for the top prize of over VND2.7B (US$116,441.00) in the APT Vietnam Ho Chi Minh 2022 Main Event here at the Saigon Poker Club.

As Hand for Hand dawned, the tension mounted when it was announced that there were only 74 players remaining. Then the attention was focused on Table 5 where Garson was on the D with less than one hundred thousand in chips. The action folded to him and he announced that he was All-In. After the SB folded, Dinh looked down at his cards and gave a smirk. He immediately asked for a count. Dinh was sitting on about four hundred thousand in chips and decided to make the call.

Garson showed AhQc while Dinh tabled pocket fives.

The flop came Kc3c7h which was no help for Garson. An 8d arrived at the turn and the river was a 6c, eliminating the Perpignan native and drawing the cheers from all those who still remain.

Meanwhile, a third Side Event of the day took off in the Deep Side Turbo (Event #16) filling the venue to the brim. Still ongoing (along with the Main Event) are the Single-Day High-Rollers and the Short Deck competition.
