Asian Poker Tour to Launch Asian Series – First Stop: Cebu

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) has announced a new poker series in Asia looking to attract more local and regional players giving them the opportunity to compete at an international poker tournament event.

The inaugural event of this exciting new series – the ‘APT Asian Series’ will take place from January 10 to 17, 2011 at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu, Philippines.

In partnership with the All-In Sports Club, PAGCOR and the Waterfront Hotel, the event will take place during the traditional Sinulog Festival in Cebu.

“The APT Asian Series is aimed at expanding the APT calendar with events designed to suit the Asian poker community and we are anticipating huge player participation for this event.” APT Chief Executive Officer Jeff Mann said. “I am delighted that our first event will be hosted with All-In-Sports Club and I’m looking forward to what should be a fun and popular event. APT will be staging at least three APT Asian Series Events in 2011”

The APT Asian Series Cebu will follow the very popular APT format of presenting 7-days of constant poker action including 7 side events, 7 satellite events and a Main Event with a buy-in PhP 46,500+ PhP 3,500.

The event will also incorporate– running for its 5th successive year– the Cebu Poker Open which with a buy-in of PHP5,000 + PHP500 will offer a guaranteed prize pool of PHP1 Million.
