ASIAN POKER TOUR AND IT’S HOLDINGS SET TO HOST POKER PUB EVENTS IN SOUTH KOREA

Back in September of 2019, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) sealed an exclusive deal with the APT Korea Representative, Gony Cha to ensure the growth and awareness of APT at the start of the boom of poker pubs in South Korea.

Within the past years, Korean poker pubs have grown in popularity due to the rising market of poker players from South Korea. These pubs are modeled similarly after the poker pubs of Japan wherein players win a variety of prizes instead of cash.

Due to Gony’s efforts, an exclusive two-year agreement has been signed to do a minimum of two events per year with IT’S HOLDINGS, a company established in September 2020 and has been formed to organize international standard poker pub tournaments in South Korea with the support of their affiliated poker pubs throughout the country.

“APT is going to hold an official Korea Tour tournament in the second half of 2021. Looking forward to expanding the base of Texas Hold’em Poker in Korea and change it into a full-fledged sport,” said APT Korea Representative Gony Cha.

In line with the new era, Texas Hold’em Poker in Korea has developed into a new sports event in earnest.

Based on the first IT’S POKER International Poker Championship in September 2020, IT’S POKER has a total of four events, including the Ladies Championship for female poker players, and a total of KRW 5.9 billion worth of tournaments successfully completed the final in April 2021 announcing the successful start of the Korea Texas Hold’em Tournament.
