APT 2020 events from January to April
APT Kick-Off Vietnam 2020
Dates: January 10 to 21
Location: Pro Poker Club, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Main Event: VND 22,000,000 (~US$ 950)
Championships Event: VND 38,500,000 (~US$ 1,700)
Back in January 2018, the APT held its kickoff event in Ho Chi Minh City for the first time. The event pulled in a massive 664 entries eventually paying out a grand festival total US$ 863,000. Since then, the tour returned another five times and will open its 2020 calendar season at Pro Poker Club for the third consecutive year.
In celebration of the two year partnership between APT and Pro Poker Club players can expect VND 14 Billion in guaranteed prizes and freeroll flip outs during the featured Main Event and Championships Event worth US$ 8,000. The Pro Poker Club is the largest brick and mortar room in Southeast Asia with 28 tables.
APT Taiwan 2020
Dates: March 4 to 15
Location: Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association, Taipei City, Taiwan
Main Event and Championships Event: buy-in TBA
The inaugural APT Taiwan holds the record for the largest APT Main Event in 2019. At the close, the festival paid out over US$ 2.1 million. The tour returned to venue Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club) for two more visits, closing its calendar year with another big turnout for a total of US$ 1.27 million in prizes. Taiwan has now become a permanent stop for the APT.
APT Vietnam – Da Nang 2020
Dates: April 7 to 18
Location: Risemount Premier Resort
Main Event: VND 22,000,000 (~US$ 950)
APT Vietnam – Da Nang is the newest stop in the lineup. This gorgeous coastal city with its beautiful Marble Mountains is the fastest developing area in the country. It is easily accessible to a majority of Asian ports. In partnership with Vietnam Series of Poker (VSOP), the APT will bring a full schedule running for 12 days in early April.
APT Philippines 2020
Dates: April 27 to May 10 – 14
Location: Resorts World Manila, Newport Grand Wing
Main Event: PHP 55,000 (~US$ 1,080)
The Philippines has been the hub of the Asian Poker Tour since the brand’s inception in 2008. It is considerably the most popular APT stop. Each year the overall prize pool swells as players flock In from all over the world to choice venue Resorts World Manila. In 2019, the event paid out a massive US$ 1.8 million.
For 2020, the APT brings more to the table with a 14-day schedule planned. This is two days longer than usual. The festival takes place during Japan’s Golden Week. The Main Event is one not-to-be-missed. It guarantees Php 30,000,000 (~US$ 591,000) which is three times more than last year.
