Nguyen Hoang Linh wins Pot Limit Omaha

Nguyen Hoang Linh – PLO champion

Another first time APT winner with Nguyen Hoang Linh taking down the Pot Limit Omaha event. Nguyen topped the 18-entry field, eliminating the last two players to lift a trophy and collect VN₫ 59,720,000 (~US$ 2,600). Leading up to the win, the man in charge was France’s Yoann Gimenez who knocked out Tommy Ngo on the bubble with a straight flush over quads (pictured below).

Despite his massive stack, at three-handed, Gimenez got pummeled. Short stacked Phan Hong Minh survived multiple showdowns and Nguyen kept increasing. Down to 10 BB, Gimenez shoved and busted to Nguyen in 3rd place. This was Gimenez’s third cash, the most by anyone in the series. Gimenez accrued enough points to slide into the top spot of the APT POS race. Heads up between Nguyen (100 BB) and Phan (12 BB) lasted all of three hands. The final matchup was Nguyen 10 9 9 5 full house over Phan’s A 10 5 Q two pair on a board 5 K K K A
