APT Vietnam Phu Quoc Main Event Day 1A kicks off today on Natural8; online satellites running until May 21

Saddle up! Starting today, the Asian Poker Tour kicks off its third event of the calendar season with Main Event Day 1A of the inaugural APT Vietnam Phú Quóc 2021 taking place at online platform Natural8. Buy in is US$ 473. Cards in the air at 14:30 Vietnam time. 

The APT Vietnam Phú Quóc Main Event features a VN₫ 2,000,000,000 (~US$ 86,730) guarantee. Its unique format caters to both live and online players. Day 1A is held on Natural8 while Day 1B onwards all take place live at host venue Corona Casino and Resort Phú Quóc

For players attending the online flight, you begin with a 25,000 starting stack which is 250x the opening blinds. Blinds increase every 15 minutes. Game ends after 12 levels with remaining players advancing to Day 2. To get in for less, there is one online turbo satellite offered at 12:30 with buy in at US$ 42. Two tickets are guaranteed. Vietnemese players Terry “Terryboom” Nguyen, Josh Tu, and “Paul1986 ” all won their Day 1A seat via the first online satellite. For players that advance to Day 2, you will need to make your way to the host venue by May 25 for the live portion. Players unable to attend will not be refunded. 

After today’s online flight, online Day 1 satellites to the live starting flights are available from May 16 to May 21. Two seats are also guaranteed per satellite. Then from May 22 to May 30, in partnership with Pearl Island Poker Tour (PIPT), the full APT Vietnam Phú Quóc festival begins featuring VN₫ 4 Billion (~US$ 173,455) in guaranteed prizes. APT Main Event

The APT Main Event is the tour’s most highly revered tournament offering the best deepstack structure in the Asian region. Not only will the champion walk away with the first ever APT Vietnam Phú Quóc Main Event title, the winner will also take home the APT Main Event Trophy, APT Championship Ring, and a hefty first place cash prize.

As a special treat to early birds, entry for all Day 1B players is rake free. Buy in is VN₫ 10,000,000 (~US$ 433.65). To get in for even less, players can try their luck at the live satellites. Two are offered with buy in at VN₫ 1,200,000 (US$ 52) and VN₫ 2,400,000 (~US$ 104).

APT Championships Event

Running back to back with the main is the APT Championships Event. This is the second featured event of the series and it also guarantees  VN₫ 2 Billion (~US$ 86,730). The event is scheduled from May 27 to May 30. Buy in is VN₫ 16,500,000 (~US$ 716).

Final Day: Sunday, May 30

Alike the main, the eventual winner will receive plenty of recognition in prizes such as the APT Championships Event Trophy, APT Championships Ring, and a sizable first place cash payout. Previous APT Vietnam Championships Event winners were Cao Ngoc Anh (HCMC 2018), Lim Yo Hwan (2019 HCMC), Oliver Helm (HCMC 2019), Vincent Chauve (HCMC 2019), and Harry Duong (HCMC 2020). 

Other events 

In addition to the featured events, players will have their hands full with 13 side events to conquer. Buy ins range from VN₫ 5,500,000 (~US$ 238.50) toVN₫ 55,000,000 (~US$ 2,385).
