This is the first featured event of the series and it is the most highly praised tournament of the brand. Not only is it equipped with the best structure in the region, it also comes with a burly VND 8 Billion (~USD 345,500) guarantee.

If there is only one event you can play, then this should be it. This is the event everyone hopes to win. The APT Main Event runs from November 7 to 12 with three starting days’ to enter. We’ve got all the info you need below including our fantastic Bubble Protection incentive.
Main Event info
Dates: November 7 to 12 (six days)
Buy-in: VND 22,000,000 (~USD 1,000)
Guarantee: VND 8 billion (~USD 345,500)
Starting stack: 25,000 (500 times the opening big blind)
Start time: 1pm
Day 1A: Thursday, November 7
Day 1B: Friday, November 8
Day 1C: Saturday, November 9
Day 2: Sunday, November 10
Day 3: Monday, November 11
Final 8 Day: Tuesday, November 12
Notes:
- All starting days play until the end of Level 9
- Each level runs for 60 minutes
- Day 2 runs until the end of Level 17
- Day 3 runs until the Final 8 players is reached
- Bubble Protection in effect (see below)
- Registration closes at the start of Level 11 in Day 2
- Unlimited re-entries allowed
- Multiple stacks allowed but only the best stack advances
- Shot Clock will be introduced when the tournament is down to the last six tables
- For players looking to enter at a lower cost, there are satellites offered leading up to the event
Bubble Protection
Bubble Protection is a one of the best perks for players attending the Main Event. In the event that a “bubble protected player” busts on the bubble, that player will receive his/her buy-in back in the form of APT Tournament credits (valid for one year). Since its inception in 2016, Bubble Protection has saved several players from walking away empty-handed. To be eligible, all you need to do is follow the easy steps below:
- Pre-register
- Draw for your seat before starting time
- Have your chips put into play on the first deal of Level 1

Reigning APT Vietnam 2019 Main Event champion: Zhou Jiaping (USD 81,000)
Reigning APT 2019 Main Event champion: Zong Chi He (USD 63,500)
APT Kick-off Vietnam 2019 Main Event champion: Abhinav Iyer (USD 97,000)
At yesterday’s opening day, both Zhou Jiaping and Abhinav Iyer were at the scene. We will likely see them at the Main Event attempting for a second APT title. Other APT major champions also seen early were Iori Yogo, Tetsuya Tsuchikawa, and Dang Xuan Canh.
