We are back in Ho Chi Minh City at partner and host venue Pro Poker Club. This is our third Vietnam installment in 2019 running from November 6 to November 17. With the year coming fast to a close, this is the tour’s penultimate festival before we wrap up the season. So come on over! Doors open at 12pm.
Ever since our first visit in January 2018, the APT has become a frequent flyer to Ho Chi Minh City. Our inaugural APT Vietnam Main Event produced a towering 664 entries, setting the stage for every international brand that followed. On average, the APT has drawn 540 Main Event entrants to Vietnam.
In the coming days, we will ignite the tables once again. We bring with us a 25 event schedule and VND 14 billion (~USD 605,000) in guaranteed prizes. Most of our events will see the Final 8 table stream live on APT Twitch and APT YouTube. Listed below are featured events you just can’t miss:
Featured Events
At every stop, we offer two featured events – Main Event and Championships Event. These are the APT’s most prestigious tournaments and are continuously praised by players as having the best structures in the region. See for yourself via the link below:

This year has already awarded nine champions for each of the events with some tasting glory for the first time in their career such as reigning APT Vietnam winners: China’s Zhou Jia Ping (Main Event) and Oliver Helm (Championships Event). We do hope to see them here to defend their title.
Along with the thrill of victory, Main Event and Championships Event winners are awarded a special APT Champion Trophy, APT Championship Ring, and of course a hefty first place cash prize.
Main Event – VND 8 Billion guaranteed
Dates: November 7 to 12 (six days)
Buy-in: VND 22,000,000 (~USD 1,000)
Guarantee: VND 8 billion (~USD 345,500)
Starting stack: 25,000 (500 times the opening big blind)
Start time: 1pm
Day 1A: Thursday, November 7
Day 1B: Friday, November 8
Day 1C: Saturday, November 9
*All Day 1 heats play until the end of Level 9
Day 2: Sunday, November 10 (plays until the end of Level 17)
Day 3: Monday, November 11 (plays until the final 8 players is reached)

Championships Event – VND 6 Billion guaranteed
Dates: November 13 to 17 (five days)
Buy-in: VND 38,500,000 (~USD 1,700)
Guarantee: VND 6 billion (~USD 259,500)
Starting stack: 50,000 (250 times the starting big blind)
Start time: 1pm
Day 1A: Wednesday, November 13
Day 1B: Thursday, November 14
*Both Day 1 heats play until the end of Level 8
Day 2: Friday, November 15 (plays until the end of Level 16)
Day 3: Saturday, November 16 (plays until the final 8 players is reached)
Final 8 Day: Sunday, November 17
Featured Event notes:
- Unlimited re-entries allowed
- Each level runs for 60 minutes
- Registration closes one hour into Day 2
- Multiple stacks allowed but only the best stack advances
- Shot Clock will be introduced when the tournament is down to the last six tables
- For players looking to enter at a lower cost, there are satellites offered leading up to the event
Other events
In addition to the highlighted tournaments, we have a long list of side events to strut your stuff and win a trophy. The APT has ensured games for every type of player with buy-ins as low as VND 5,500,000 (~USD 240) to VND 107,500,000 (~USD 4,700) on the high end.
Opening Day schedule
With the doors opening in several hours, get an early start and join the festival’s first games. Two are offered; these are the tour’s most popular side events. Both run for two days.
13:00: Monster Stack 1 – Buyin VND 11,000,000 (~USD 480)
14:00: High Rollers 1 – Buyin VND 54,000,000 (~USD 2,300)
Players that reach the money in these events will be the first to earn points towards the APT Player of the Series race.
APT Player of the Series
The APT Player of the Series race kicks off as soon as the first event has concluded. All games – except the Super High Rollers and Satellites – earn players points. At the end of the series, the top three players in points are recognized and awarded special prizes:
1st: APT Player of the Series Trophy, APT Player of the Series Ring, exclusive watch, and USD 800.
2nd: APT Player of the Series 2nd place Trophy and USD 100
3rd: APT Player of the Series 3rd place Trophy and USD 100
Things to help you get by
For first time visitors, Ho Chi Minh City is a busy city that offers practically everything you need. Currency is the Vietnamese Dong. If your hotel is a bit of a trek from the poker venue, we suggest booking Grab Car or Grab Bike to travel, the rates are usually very reasonable.
As for accommodations, there are a plethora of choices in every direction. The venue is at District 3 so you might want to consider within the area. However, if you are looking for a more lively part of town, District 1 is the place. Plenty of activity all day and night and lots of bars, cafes, restaurants, and sights to explore.
