APT Vietnam Ho Chi Minh Update: Day 1A closes, records 248 entries: 109 advance

HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam – The Early Bird Special Day 1A of the Main Event of the APT Vietnam Ho Chi Minh 2022 drew an astonishing 248 entries forking out the VND2.1M (US$903.00) and saving 1MVND (US$43.00) in the process as 109 advanced to Day 2 at the Saigon Poker Club here.
 
Leading the qualifiers was local bet Ngo Van Dat with 208,000 in chips while American Tom Tran was not far behind with 199,900. Manot Pentakota of India was third with 189,800 as they will be the ones to initially look out for when Day 2 commences on Sunday (14th August).
 
Day 1B is tomorrow (12th August) at 1:00PM (UCT+7) with the regular buy-in of VND2.2M (US$946.00) along with the VND7M (US$301.00) Super Deep Stack Turbo (Event #7) and the second Single-Day High-Rollers (Event #8). Table traffic allowing, the last satellite for the Main Event’s Day 1C will also happen as yet another satellite was cancelled tonight due to table congestion.
 
Meanwhile, (Event #5) the VND11M (US$473.00) Pot Limit Omaha competition will be playing on today until a champion is crowned. This decision was reached upon close consultation with the players and the tournament operations team. Four players remain to contest the biggest chunk of the VND300,700,000.00 (US$12,930.00) total prize pool. The champion gets VND114,410,000.00 (US$4,920.00).
 
Event #6 (the first of the two Single-Day High-Rollers) is now also three-handed with 36 entries of VND32.5M (US$1,400.00) bringing the prize pool to VND1,047,600,000.00 (US$45,047.00) with the winner acquiring VND398,590,000.00 (US$17,139.00).
