HomeTAIPEI CITY, Taiwan – The dust has barely settled after Ori Kossonogi of Israel triumphed in the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Taiwan 2022 Mystery Bounty tilt as Day 1A of the Main Event kicks off along with two competitions heading towards the finish line and two new events waiting to crown champions as the action goes up several notches here at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club).

Officially the third day here in Taipei City but the fifth day overall after the APT Taichung Championship, today’s opener for the Main Event carries with a discount for all those opting to take part in this NT$3M (US$94,610.00) GTD event as the buy-in is reduced by NT$500.00 (US$16.00). Known as the “Early Bird Special”, participants of this session also get the same discount should they choose to re-enter if they get busted out.
Cards fly at exactly 1:00PM (UCT+8) and registration will remain open until the end of the session.
The structure here has 40-minute rounds with a starting stack of 25,000 with the starting Blinds at 50/100. The day ends at the conclusion of Level 8 (300/600 – 600 BB ante).
The APT also has “Bubble Protection” wherein players who avail of this option will get their buy-in back. That is always in effect in all APT Main Events across the region.
WSOP Circuit titlist Kuo Hui Chen (better known as Kitty Kuo) is the defending champion of this event. The 39-year-old poker millionaire now based in the United States is said to be in town.
Also unfolding today are (Event #4) the single-day NLH and (Event #5) the single-day NT$27k (US$851,00) High-Rollers while the finale of (Event #2) the NT$86k (US$2,711.00) Super High-Rollers (registration still open until the end of the first level after the resumption) and (Event #3) the two-day NLH will also have champions emerging. In essence, four trophies will be handed out today along with a chance to enter Day 1B of the Main Event as another satellite takes place at 6:00PM.
This promises to be one the busiest and action-filled days in the event calendar for this leg.
