HomeGood morning players and welcome to another Asian Poker Tour series! The tour is back in Taipei City at the CTP Club (Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association) for APT Taiwan 2020. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, the numbers will likely be compromised however you can trust the APT on bringing you a great experience nonetheless.
The twelve-day series begins today March 4 and will run until March 15. We have 24 events lined up, including the Main Event and Championships Event. Both of these featured events offer one of the most highly revered structures in the region. Unfortunately we’ve had to remove the initially advertised guarantees. We have all the info for you below including today’s kickoff event.
Before we proceed, here are some useful tips for visiting players:
- Currency is the New Taiwan Dollar
- Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, wearing a mask is advised.
- For hotel accommodations there are several in the area such as Artree Hotel, Capital Hotel Nanjing, Hotel B, and Urtrip Hotel. Prices vary per establishment.

Opening Event
The games open up with the KMGM Monster Stack. Due to travel restrictions, it is uncertain if a large contingent from the association will be able to attend. For players ready to hit the felt, two flights are offered, both take place today. Buy-in is NT$ 16,500 (~US$ 550). This is a two-day event.
Flight A: 1pm – blinds increase every 30 minutes
Flight B 6pm – this is a turbo flight – blinds increase every 20 minutes
Registration closes at the end of Level 8
Day 1 ends at the end of Level 16
Featured Events
The Main Event and the Championships Event are the only two tournaments where players get to experience the APT’s top notch structure. It is also the only events that award the APT Championship Ring.
Main Event
Dates: March 6 to 10
Buy-in: NT$ 33,000 (~US$ 1,100)
Day 1A: Friday, March 6 at 1pm
Day 1B: Saturday, March 7 at 1pm
Day 2: Sunday, March 8 at 1pm
Day 3: Monday, March 9 at 1pm
Final Table Day: Tuesday, March 10 at 130pm
Notes:
- Blinds increase every 60 minutes
- Day 1 heats bag up at the end of Level 9
- Registration closes at the start of Level 10 in Day 2
- Day 3 bags up when the Final 8 players is reached
- Shot clock introduced at the final six tables
- Three satellites offered
Championships Event
Dates: March 11 to 15
Buy-in: NT$ 49,500 (~US$ 1,600)
Day 1A: Wednesday, March 11 at 1pm
Day 1B: Thursday, March 12 at 1pm
Day 2: Friday, March 13 at 1pm
Day 3: Saturday, March 14 at 1pm
Final Table Day: Sunday, March 15 at 130pm
Notes:

- Day 1 heats bag up at the end of Level 8
- Registration closes at the start of Level 10 in Day 2

High Rollers Events
The schedule also has plenty of action for players seeking big pots with tighter fields. We have six high rollers events to tackle:
Event 4: High Rollers – March 5 to 6 – NT$ 86,000 (~US$ 2,900)
Event 6: High Rollers Single Day – March 6 – NT$ 54,000 (~US$ 1,800)
Event 11: High Rollers – March 9 to 10 – NT$ 86,000 (~US$ 2,900)
Event 13: High Rollers Single Day – March 10 – NT$ 54,000 (~US$ 1,800)
Event 21: High Rollers – March 14 to 15 – NT$ 75,000 (~US$ 2,500)
Event 23: High Rollers Single Day – March 15 – NT$ 54,000 (~US$ 1,800)
Other Events
Also running are events with buy-ins from NT$ 5,500 to NT$ 16,500. Among the games are a variety of No Limit Hold’em, a few Pot Limit Omaha which includes a Turbo, a 5 Card PLO, and a mixed game of NLH and PLO, and back in the roster is the Ladies Of Poker.

APT Player of the Series
At the end of every APT series, the top three players in points are recognized for their accomplishments with Player of the Series trophies and cash prizes awarded.
1st place – US$ 800, Meistr watch, APT POS 1st place trophy, and APT POS Ring
2nd place – US$ 100 APT POS 2nd place trophy
3rd place – US$ 100 APT POS 3rd place trophy
All events except satellites earn players points when they reach the money.
