APT Online Series India Day 4 winners: ss23, Gautam Rohilla, Vinay Rajpal, Prakash KC, & Priyank Kothari; MINI MAIN EVENT resumes

The heat is on at the inaugural APT Online Series India with Day 4 seeing five new winners. The latest champions were Gautam “M8a7” Rohilla, Vinay “vinay09” Rajpal, Prakash “Chennaino1” KC, Priyank “Piko1432” Kothari, and ss23 who claimed the third APT trophy of the series. 

The Asian Poker Tour 2021 season opener kicked off at PokerBaazi.com on January 15 and is slated to run until January 26. It is exclusive to players geo located in India. 48 tournaments fill the roster with over one million dollars in guaranteed prize pools. 17 of those events have already been claimed and three trophies awarded to champions Ashish “Notoriouskonvict” Nailwal (Kickoff), weedist (Sunday Major), and ss23 (Monday Major).  More trophies, rings, and cash up for grabs in the coming days. 

Among the five events getting on the felt today, January 19, are the PLO High Roller ₹ 25 lakhs (~US$ 34,200) guaranteed with buy in of ₹ 11,000 (~US$ 150) and the featured MINI MAIN EVENT with 114 players returning for a chance at the APT Trophy, Championship Ring, and the ₹ 8.49 lakhs (~US$ 11,600) first prize. 

This will be followed by the featured MAIN EVENT ₹ 2 crore (~US$ 273,400) GTD which opens on January 20. Only three players from India have captured this title, Sangeeth Mohan, Abhinav Iyer, and Akshay Nasa. Four starting days are scheduled. Buy in is ₹ 11,000  (~US$ 150). After a one day break, the Mini Main Event returns today, January 19. The 114 Day 2 qualifiers will be gunning for the title, the APT Guardian Trophy, APT Championship Ring, and the first place cash prize of₹ 8.49 lakhs (~US$ 11,600). Leading the way is Day 1B chip leader Arun “Yoda” Poply with a sizable 5.28L stack equivalent to four times the entering average stack.

The third APT trophy of the series was claimed by player “ss23” at the Monday Major. Ss23 crushed the hopes of numerous players including pros and champions such as Romit “tilt83” Advani, Rubin “kornkid” Labroo, and Prakash ” Chennaino1″ KC. Ss23 banked the ₹ 5.83 lakhs (~US$ 7,970) first place prize money.

To bring about the final table, Romit “tilt83” Advani delivered a double knock out to Hyper 4 Max champion Aditya “adit11” Kulkarni (9th) and Guruprasad “fish_calling” Gupta (8th). Simultaneously, tilt83 ballooned to the biggest stack. The first two final table busts were credited to ss23, then Rubin “kornkid” Labroo gave Rakesh “rakesh666” C the boot with aces over KJs. Next shoves saw kornkid paying Chennaino1 and ss23 to drop significantly in chips; despite the boost, Chennaino1 still fell to tilt83 with K 8 trips Kings to A J then ss23 put kornkid out of commission in 3rd place.

Heads up action opened with tilt83 ahead in the count. Once ss23 overtook, he closed it out with A J improving to three of a kind aces against 2 2 two pair.

Recapping the action at the final two tables, Vikram “Poker_lover” Mishra missed out on a third final table appearance when he was given the boot in 12th place by mechchan01. After Megastack winner Gaurav “gaug17” Sood downed “amankjain”, Gautam “M8a7” Rohilla ended mechchan01 in 10th place. Rohit “mrblue1205” Malhotra was out next, followed by Vivekk “Vivek25” Dube, then Rohilla denied “ramji4” to form the final table.

Rohilla carried in the lead and went on to close it out after emptying out four more players –Mohak “Tiltin” Kapoor (6th), gaug17 (5th), skdoc (3rd), and Neeraj “SelfClaimedPro” Kumar (2nd). The victory hand was  A Q two pair to SelfClaimedPro’s K 6 lower two pair.

Fresh off a 3rd place finish at Day 3’s Monster Stack 6 Max event, Vinay “vinay09” Rajpal returned to action and proceeded to bring down the Turbo event for ₹ 1.41 lakhs (~US$ 1,930). Like all before him, this was Rajpal’s first ever APT win.

Although he managed to reclaim it, he was sent down again by Broca then finished off by vinay09. From there it was all vinay09 taking down the rest. His final hand was a bad beat to imtijamir with K 5 all in preflop finding two kings on the board to crack A A

Overall it was a great day for the champ who also cashed at the Monday Major, finishing in 4th place.

Chennaino1 began to shine after he bumped out Vivekk “Vivek25” Dube in 9th place with J J holding up against A K. When it was down to the final table, Ayush “Proman502” Garg was the player in charge and displayed it by denying Akshat “takingcuntrol” Sharma (7th) and Ashutoshi “senojwod” Balodhi (6th). However, when he faced off against Chennaino1, it was the opposite result, giving Chennaino1 the lead.

It didn’t take long for Proman502 to reclaim it but Chennaino1 grabbed it again after knocking out Sandy “Ziigmund” Lamba (5th) and bencb789 (4th). The final three players shuffled chips around the felt until a family showdown sent Proman502 A 3 packing up in 3rd place while Psyberius J Q took the main pot and Chennaino1 A K the side pot on a board 5 2 Q 2 6. With Chennaino1 up over 3:1 in chips at heads up, the final hand soon came with 10 K spiking the ten to finish off Psyberius K Q

Pocketing the most was Priyank “Piko1432” Kothari, earning ₹ 89.74K (~US$ 1,230) for his victory. In bounties alone, it was Aditya “konstantin” Singh as the top executioner with an incredible 21 heads slashed, amounting to ₹ 10.5K.
