HomeAfter two days of side event chip shuffling action, it is time for the highlight tournament of the APT Southeast Asia 2017 – the USD 1,100 buy-in APT Main Event!
The APT Main Event is the most prestigious tournament of the Asian Poker Tour and it is the only event where you can capture the exclusive APT Championship Ring. These gorgeous solid silver bands have been awarded to APT Main Event champions since January 2016. A total of 20 APT Championship Rings have already been claimed with # 21 up for grabs right here at the APT Southeast Asia 2017.

The eventual winner will also receive the APT Championship Trophy along with the bragging rights for being the first-ever APT Main Event champion of the APT Southeast Asia.
Running for a total of five days, from July 3-7, 2017, the APT Main Event is a deep structured No Limit Hold’em tournament. Through the years, the APT has continuously aimed to offer our players the best formats, and the APT Main Event truly reflects that determination.

Starting Stack: 25,000
Starting Blinds: 25-50
Blinds Duration: 60 minutes
Buy-in: USD 1,100
Late Registration / Re-entry: closes at the start of round 7
Schedule breakdown:
Day 1A – Monday, July 3rd at 5pm
Day 1B – Tuesday, July 4th at 1pm
Day 2 – Wednesday, July 5th at 1pm – play to the money round
Day 3 – Thursday, July 6th at 1pm – play to the Final 8 players
Final 8 – Friday, July 7th at 130pm
*Important note: Day 1A begins at 5pm while Day 1B begins at 1pm
Main Event Bubble Protection
Last year also saw the addition of a handy new incentive, the Main Event Bubble Protection. This perk is definitely a “must have” as it offers a type of insurance during the bubble round because let’s face it, everyone has been short-stacked during the bubble round at some point in their tournament career. To ease some of the bubble worries, the APT will reward the “protected” bubble player a consolation prize of one free seat to the next APT Main Event of the same value or its equivalent in APT tournament credits.
Here are the three simple steps needed to get protected:
- Pre-Register
- Draw for your seat before the starting time
- Have your chips put into play on the first deal of round 1
*Important note: For re-entry players, if you have already met the qualifications for Main Event Bubble Protection, you will maintain that status only on a same day re-entry. For re-entry players wanting Main Event Bubble Protection on the next starting day, you will have to repeat the steps above. This also applies to players going for multiple stacks.
