The APT KOREA SEOUL 2018 gets underway today at Paradise Casino WalkerHill located at the Grand Walkerhill Seoul. This is the first time the APT hosts an event in this dynamic city and we must say, we are very thrilled to be here.
Grand Walkerhill
For the next ten days, expect highly competitive and fun-filled poker games running from today June 15 until June 24. As always, we bring you 18 highly crafted APT signature side events with buy-ins to satisfy a wide variety of bankrolls. Our highlight tournament is the prestigious APT Main Event with a buy-in of KRW 1,100,000.
Before we give you details on those events, we’d like to invite everyone to come out and join us in opening the festivities with the Event 1: NLH Welcome Event. This is a great way to kick-start your bankroll for the rest of the series. Keep in mind, this is designed to be a two-day tournament. Buy-in is KRW 330,000. Cards in the air at 1pm.
For those making their way a bit later today, no fret because we’ve got a game for you. At 7pm is Event 2: Ante Up for Charity. Play poker for a cause. The event is for the benefit of the Welfare Policy Division by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Gwangjin-gu Office. The division aims to assist citizens with various welfare needs. Buy-in is KRW 300,000.
Now here’s the lowdown on the rest of the events to look forward to in the coming days.
MAIN EVENT
If there is one event everyone seeks to capture it is the APT Main Event. This is the most prestigious tournament offered at every APT festival. The Main Event is a deep structured No Limit Hold’em tournament boasting of the best structure in the region. It is also the only event on the schedule where one can win the exclusive APT Championship Ring.
The Main Event runs for five days from June 19 to June 23, broken down as: Day 1A, Day 1B, Day 2, Day 3, and Final 8. Buy-in is KRW 1,100,000.
For players looking to enter the main at a discount, there are 5 satellites offered leading up to the event. You can jump into one of those as early as today with one running at 5pm. Buy-in is at a lowly KRW 120,000. One seat will be awarded per 10 players.
SIDE EVENTS
Running from festival start to finish are daily side events. We have 18 of them lined up for you throughout the series. Buy-ins range from KRW 165,000 to KRW 2,150,000. Below are some of those events:
For heavy-hitters:
- Pot Limit Omaha High Rollers: a rare treat in the roster, buy-in is KRW 1,1000,000 – June 17 – 18
- High Rollers: largest buy-in of all the games coming in at KRW 2,150,000 – June 23 – 24
For mid-range:
- Main Event Warm-Up: great way to practice before the main with the same structure extended, buy-in KRW 660,000 – June 16 – June 17
- Monster Stack: buy-in KRW 660,000 – June 22 – 23
- Pot Limit Omaha Hi: buy-in is KRW 550,000 – June 23
- Head Hunter and a variety of No Limit Hold’em game formats to choose from
For lower-end:
- Six Handed Turbo with Antes: buy-in KRW 330,000 – June 24
- A variety of Deep Stack Turbo events: buyins are KRW 165,000

Local currency
Throughout the event, all buy-ins and fees accepted only in South Korean Won. The APT cashier can only accept KRW cash and casino chips as payment for buy ins. In case you want to use your credit card, you can proceed to the casino cage to purchase casino chips. If you have other currencies, foreign exchange services are located within the casino.

Travel from Incheon Airport to Grand Walkerhill
For players coming into Incheon airport, the fastest way to get to Seoul Station is through the Airport Railroad Express (AREX). It takes 43 minutes with no stops in between. If you are not press for time then the commuter train is another option. It gets you to Seoul Station in 60 minutes with 9 stops.
There is also a direct shuttle bus called KAL Limousine that runs from Incheon Airport to the Grand WalkerHill Seoul and Paradise Casino Walkerhill. They can be found outside of the Arrivals area by Bay 4A. Tickets are KRW 16,000.
