APT Championship: registration closes with 242 entries, now over PhP18M GTD

PASAY CITY, Philippines – The prize pool for the Asian Poker Tour (APT) 2022 Philippines Championship event has now ballooned to over PhP18M (US$316,100.00) as officially 242 entries comprise the field with PhP4,266,800.00 (US$74,341.00) going to the champion as the action intensifies at the Grand Wing Casino, Newport World Resorts here.

As of this writing, 92 are still in the running while ITM has been set at 25 players where everyone at that point will be guaranteed PhP148,900.00 (US$2,594.00). 

Among the new players who have entered are PLO champion Don “Pusang Gala” Carmona of the Philippines, American Aron Dermer–who busted out in tenth during the recently concluded Main Event–and WSOP veteran Christopher Michael Soyza of Malaysia.

Among those already out as of this present level are Filipino pros Edgar Asehan, Euryd Rivera and former APT Manila Main Event winner Reniel Galvez.

The 2-Day Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) tilt (Event #18) is underway and later on (Event #19) the much-anticipated PhP8.8K Deep Stack Turbo (DST) event commences at 6:00PM (UCT+8).
