APT battleground shifts to Taipei, Mystery Bounty opens hostilities

TAIPEI CITY, Taiwan – Opening in successful fashion with 427 entries in the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Taichung Championship, the series now segues to the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club) here for the resumption of action beginning today (27th September) with the first flight of the much anticipated (Event #1) Mystery Bounty competition as this leg will remain at this venue until its completion on 5th October.

Taichung’s Wang Hong Che was the first to be feted after coming away with the title in the opener and now the quest to capture this prestigious event is now in the crosshairs of all the poker aficionados that descend upon this building.

With a buy-in of NT$8,500.00 (US$267.00), NT$2,500.00 (approximately US$78.00) will go into the Bounty Pool and once the field hits ITM, sealed envelopes containing bounty prizes will be drawn by those who eliminate a player. The uniqueness of this tournament is that unlike regular bounty (or Head Hunter) events wherein each player busted carries the same amount, the Mystery Bounty has different money values in each envelope that can range from the minimum bounty to a life-changing sum.

In the recently concluded APT 2022 Philippines version, the highest bounty was priced at PhP288.000.00 (US$4,881.00) and three of them were in the mix.

The initial goal is to survive the opening flights and advance to Day 2 of this NT$1M GTD (US$31,414.00) tilt. Flight A is at 1:00PM (UCT+8) while Flight B commences at 5:00PM.

The Mystery Bounty structure has combatants starting with 25,000 in chips and the opening Blinds at 50/100 with thirty minute rounds. Unlimited re-entries are allowed until the end of the break after Level 12 and the Flights finish at the end of Level 15.

This is the first time the Mystery Bounty will be played in this country.

Also later tonight, the first of four satellites to the NT$3M GTD (US$96,231.00) Main Event takes place with those seeking a more affordable entry can win a seat for only NT$2,200.00 (US$69.00). The regular buy-in is NT$15,000.00 (US$503.00).
