Designed to accommodate the weekend warriors, the Asian Poker Tour Manila 2016 will host its highlight event the P55,000 entry fee APT Main Event at the APT Poker Room in the Waterfront Manila Pavilion Hotel and Casino. This is the first of two day one flights with the last one scheduled for tomorrow. Cards will start flying promptly at 1pm. The Main Event will run for a total of five days, here is the full schedule:
- Day 1A today – Friday, October 7th
- Day 1B tomorrow – Saturday, October 8th
- Day 2 – Sunday, October 9th
- Day 3 – Monday, October 10th
- Final 8 – Tuesday, October 11th
Throughout this calendar year, the Main Event has seen many thrilling moments with eleven champions awarded a special prize, the coveted APT Championship Ring. The Main Event is the only tournament where you can win one of these prestigious solid silver bands. Back in April, Korea’s Jeon Seung Soo won his APT ring and his second-ever Main Event championship title, and last month, UK’s Samad Razavi earned the same achievement.
One great incentive added to the Main Event at the start of the year is the Main Event Bubble Protection. This perk comes in very handy when you find yourself short stacked during the bubble round. If the unfortunate moment happens and you do bubble, then this protection awards you a consolation prize of one free seat to the next APT Main Event of the same value.
Here are the three simple steps on how to qualify for the bubble protection:
- Pre-register
- Draw for your seat before starting time
- Have your chips put into play on the first deal of round number 1
In regards to the mechanics, players who qualify for Bubble Protection will maintain that status on a same day re-entry. Players wanting Bubble Protection on a next day re-entry will have to repeat the steps to qualify.
Other Events today
Running alongside the Main Event is the Open Face Chinese Pineapple Shootout 24 Max event. This is the only side event offered today. Buy-in is P16,500 and game time is at 2pm. There will also be a Last Chance Main Event Mega Satellite at 6pm with a buy-in of P5,500. One seat will be awarded per ten players. If you are still in need of a seat to the Main Event, this could potentially be your ticket in.
