APT Vietnam Concludes; Brion, Takafuji, and Paulsen Claim APT Trophies

After eight days of poker festivities, the inaugural APT Vietnam, in partnership with Ho Tram Resort Casino and World Players Entertainment, has concluded with a total of 822 entries representing 36 countries from around the globe. This successful gathering of poker enthusiasts and aficionados will certainly go down in the books as the first major international poker event held in Vietnam.

Throughout the week we witnessed APT newcomer Kwan Kit Kwok from Hong Kong bag the APT Vietnam Main Event, the Ante-Up for Charity event broke its record for the number of entries, Iori Yogo claimed two APT trophies, and APT Player of the Year 2012-2014 Samad Razavi moved up three notches, into second position, on the APT POY leader board.

Closing out the festival were a few side events. The two-day Monster Stack No Limit Holdem (Event 10) ended with Adrian Brion of the Philippines defeating Chinese national Wen Ling Gao to take home the $10,710 first place cash prize plus the APT trophy.

In the 6-Handed Turbo w/ Antes (Event 13), Hideki Takafuji prevented Samad Razavi from claiming another win under his belt by defeating him at the heads up round with his pocket fives landing a set against Razavi’s top pair. Takafuji earned the $5,010 first place cash prize and the APT trophy for that event.

At the Deep Stack Turbo 3 (Event 14), Kai Paulsen from Norway finally bagged his first place win after making it into several final tables throughout the week. Paulsen defeated Charly Wittmann to earn the cool $2,740 cash prize.
