101 move on from Main Event Day 1C, India’s Singh now holds overall chip-lead

PASAY CITY, Philippines – Day 1C of the Asian Poker Tour (APT) 2022 Philippines Main Event almost equaled Days 1A and 1B combined as 205 entries pumped the total prize pool to well over the guaranteed prize pool of PhP15M (US$264,000.00) with registration still available until the end of Day 2’s first two levels as the action heats up here at the Grand Wing Casino, Newport World Resorts.

A total 408 from the collective Day1 entries have thus far pushed the total prize pool past the PhP20M mark and at the close of Day 2’s Level 10, the official payouts will be announced. Four more advanced to Day 2 via the final satellite that just concluded. 

The new overall chip-leader is now Lakshpal Singh of India who led the exodus of 104 survivors to the next competition phase. Singh, who has cashed thrice in the APT, brings 199,200 in chips to tomorrow’s resumption. 

Russia’s Vladimir Mefodichev also managed to climb to second place with 185,600 while Jhana Lee Hale of Australia got to third (eighth overall) with 122,400. The closest Filipino to the leaders advancing from Day 1C is 2022 APT Manila Hyper Deep Stack Turbo champion Dek Cruz at tenth overall with 117,200 in total holdings.

Day 2 commences at 1:00PM (UCT+8) with a Featured Table Livestream on the APT Twitch and YouTube pages. 

In the meantime, the Final 8 of (Event #8) the Single-Day NLH is still in action with local bets William Ysmael and JR “Rhen Holz” Villanueva vying for a revival of the host nation’s strong start before being derailed in yesterday’s hostilities. The champion bests a field of 9 entries and will receive PhP359,800.00 (US$6,332.00).
