The Metro Card Club, the biggest poker room in the Philippines, will be staging a major tournament this weekend to send players to the APT Philippines 2010 in late August.
A big guaranteed prize pool of Php 1,500,000 will be up for grabs at the tournament, which will be held from Thursday, August 12, to Monday, August 16. That prize pool will be made up of at least Php 1,000,000 in cash prizes as well as a total of four seats to the upcoming APT Philippines 2010 main event. Buy-in is set at Php 3,000.
The card room, which is located in Pasig City, has been at the forefront of poker’s development in the Philippines. It is also home to renowned Filipino poker pro Neil Arce, who took home US $185,000 for winning APT Philippines 2009. Arce will be at this year’s main event to defend his title against top players from Asia and around the world.
Aside from the big tournament at the Metro Card Club, there are plenty of other ways to win APT seats this coming weekend.
The Poker Circuit’s TPC Motherboard will be in full swing as it heads over to Midas Touch in Pasig City for its third leg. A total of nine players will emerge from the Midas Touch leg to advance to the TPC Motherboard finals at APT Philippines 2010.

Meanwhile, the RWM Satellite Series #5 will be held this Sunday at Resorts World Manila, the official venue of APT Philippines 2010.The Php 500,000 guaranteed tournament will be giving away one main event seat as well as RWM Satellite Series Finale seats for the second to fifth place finishers.
