After three successful tours held in Vietnam, Philippines, and Macau, the Asian Poker Tour heads to South Korea for APT Korea Seoul 2018. In partnership with Geutebruck Korea Inc, this upcoming event takes place from June 15 – 24 in Paradise Casino at the Grand Walkerhill. It will be the first time the APT hosts an event in Seoul, one of the most dynamic, fashionably quirky, yet traditional cities in Asia.
Throughout the ten days, players can expect nonstop poker enjoyment with a wide array of games to choose from. The schedule is lined with 18 highly crafted side events with buy-ins from KRW 165,000 to KRW 2,150,000. All of these events will be shadowed by the festival’s headliner, the KRW 1,100,000 buy-in Main Event. We have all those details for your below.
Main Event
The Main Event is a five day No Limit Hold’em tournament with a buy-in of KRW 1,100,000. It is equipped with a deep structure with blinds increasing at a slow 60 minute pace. For those joining the APT for the first time, the structure has been revered as one of the best in the region. It is also the only event where you can win the exclusive APT Championship Ring.
The Main Event runs a total of five days from June 19 – 23. It consists of two starting days, Day 2, Day 3, and the Final 8. Registration closes at the start of Level 10 in Day 2.
For those looking to enter the Main Event at a fraction of the cost, the schedule offers five satellites leading up to the event, running from June 15 – 19.
Side Events
The 18 side events offer poker games of varying price ranges, formats, and duration. While most of the games are variations of No Limit Hold’em, there are a couple of Pot Limit Omaha games on the schedule. A majority of these events run for one day however there are several that are scheduled for two days. Here are some of the events to look forward to:

PLO High Rollers: June 17 – Buyin: KRW 1,100,000

High Rollers: June 23 – Buyin: KRW 2,150,000
In addition to these events are a variety of NLH games and Turbo events.

Local currency
Throughout the event, all buyins and fees accepted only in South Korean Won. The the APT Cashier can only accept KRW cash and casino chips as payment for buy ins. In case you want to use your credit card, you can proceed to the Casino cage to purchase casino chips. If you have other currencies, foreign exchange services are located within the casino.
About Seoul
Seoul is the bustling capital of South Korea. Alike most progressive cities, it is very friendly, upbeat, and modern with skyscrapers, malls, markets, parks, and a highly efficient railway station. Airports
There are two airports that service Seoul, the Incheon International Airport and the Gimpo International Airport. Gimpo handles a majority of the domestic flights however they do have select international flights that service Japan and China. Since 2001, Incheon has taken the bulk of the international flights. This airport has been rated as the best airport worldwide for 11 consecutive years.
For players coming into Incheon airport, the fastest way to get to Seoul Station is through the Airport Railroad Express (AREX). It takes 43 minutes with no stops in between. If you are not press for time then the commuter train is another option. It gets you to Seoul Station in 60 minutes with 9 stops.
