Today’s lineup: Main Event Warm-Up, Welcome Event resumes with 4 remaining

Opening day of the inaugural APT Korea Seoul 2018 in Paradise Casino at the Grand Walkerhill Seoul saw two events fire up the poker room all throughout the day, the NLH Welcome Event and the Ante Up for Charity.

Past the midnight hour, the Charity event wrapped up with USA’s John Young Lee as the festival’s first winner. The event generated KRW 2,000,000 for the benefit of the Welfare Policy Division Gwangjin-gu Office of the Seoul Metropolitan Government. Official awarding will take place later today.

The Welcome Event wasn’t able to complete its full course. It closed with four players remaining out of the 69 total entries. Bagging up over double the stack of his closest competitor was USA’s Jinwoo Kim.

Kim had quite the wild rise to the top going from a measly 2.5 bbs at the start of the money round to chip leader. Delivering the bubble was Jeffrey Lee Haney with pocket jacks staying ahead of a player’s pocket tens.

We will have a recap for you on that event and the full results as soon as it concludes. NLH Welcome Event action resumes at 1pm today. 8 players have already been paid.

Here are the final four contenders:

Jinwoo Kim – USA – 343,000
Andrew Lunde – Canada – 168,000
Stephane Blouin – Canada – 148,000
Yang Young Moon – 31,000
