To The Money: Final 70 Target ITM in Cebu Main Event

The APT Asian Poker Series Cebu 2015 Main Event continues play Sunday with Day 2 featuring 70 survivors from the original 160 runners in the field.

The top five all have hit the century mark in chips led by Canadian Thomas Lee, who goes to war today with the big stack of 131,800. Closely behind are the Philippines’ Jessie Leonares (111,250); Japan’s Onda Toshiyuki (109,350) and Gerard Bringley (102,400) and Korea’s Min Soo Kim (109,175).

The tournament held at the All In Poker Club at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino Lahug in Cebu, Philippines will restart at 1:00 PM.

Some notable pros and APT regulars are also still in the running for the APT title including Japan’s Iori Yogo (78,525), Azusa Maeda (26,200), Kenichi Takarabe (23,550), Kosei Ichinose (67,450) and Jun Saito (19,275); the Philippines’ Andrew Gaw (47,650), Mike Takayama (26,175), Martin Gonzales (57,800) and Ian Brion (27,725); Canada’s Linh Tran (41,100); Singapore’s Alex Lee (42,400) and Norbert Koh (35,525); and Korea’s Mike Kim (57,125), Simba (21,450) and SJ Kim (49,575); UK’s Sam Razavi, among others.

All players will be aiming for a spot in the Top 18—with the lowest payout in the money at PHP 132,000. The prize pool is at PHP 7.13M with the champion earning over PHP 1.8M. Day 2 play will stop if the ITM is reached or at the end of Level 16, whichever comes first.

Deep Stack Turbo 1 Champion, Michael Tchong

Meanwhile, at the Deep Stack Turbo 1 event which drew a total of 98 players, it was Michael Tchong (Singapore) who came out on top to claim the top prize of PHP 101,500.

Pot Limit Omaha Hi Champion, Sam Razavi

At the Pot Limit Omaha Hi, APT Triple Crown Player of the Year Sam Razavi bagged his second APT Asian Poker Series Cebu trophy by overcoming a 60-player field and defeating his fiancee Maria Carmen Esdaile at the heads up round. With his win, he’s back at the number one spot on the current 2015 APT POY leaderboard.

Two side events are also on tap today; the NLHE (PHP 13,200 buy-in) and the MegaSportsWorld Deep Stack Turbo (PHP 5,500) events at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM, respectively. Check the Event Schedule page for complete details.
