Start on Time or Late Registration?

Every tournament the APT has to offer allows players to enter until the end of the first break. This is usually up to 2 hours and 10 minutes for any given tournament.

Having late registration increases the prize pool by enticing more players to the tournament. However, those players starting on time will receive the full benefit of the blind structure and see the maximum number of hands. It will also give you more time to get a feel for the players around you and allow you to compete on an even playing field with each stack.

Players should always try to start on time but some may prefer not to. The rationale often used here is that with starting blinds being so low pots are often small and insignificant. But there are others who will say that every pot won is significant.

What’s important to remember is that even when you are late entering an APT tournament, you don’t have to worry as APT starting stacks are fairly deep, allowing you enough room to still battle your way into the money.
