Side Event results

Yesterday, the Monster Stack event attracted 46 players at a buy-in of HKD 8,800 each. This created a prize pool of HKD 357,000 with the eventual winner slated to earn the largest piece of HKD 142,700. Last night, the event wrapped up with 10 players still in contention. They will return at 2pm today for the final battle to the trophy.

Graeme Siow wins the Deep Stack Turbo 2

Deep Stack Turbo 2 Champion, Graeme Siow

Also running last night was the Deep Stack Turbo 2 event with 40 players heating up the felt. Despite the high blinds and everyone short stacked, it took a while for the bubble to burst. Everyone was either folding or shoving. For Graeme Siow, he doubled up with A Q against Sai Hang Au’s A K on a board running Q 9 4 3 9. After the bubble burst, his next takedown was a three-way showdown with his A-K besting K-J and A-4 sending one player out in the process.

His crazy all in hands saw him boot another one, this time with a full house holding Q Q on a board of 4 4 K J Q. With more than half of the chips backing him up, he railed the next player to enter the heads up round in the lead against Jie Zhang. The final hand was his A 5 winning over K 10 on a completed board of 6 Q 8 K A. Siow shipped in the HKD 15,800 first prize and the event trophy.
