KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – June 1, 2022 – Today, the newly formed APT Events Private Limited announced the purchase of the Asian Poker Tour (APT) from Asian Poker Tour Limited, an Asianlogic Group Company.
APT is one of the most recognized live poker brands in Asia and has been a key market leader for the continuous growth and popularity of poker in Asia/Pacific, since its inception in 2008. The tour boasts more live poker events – with the most destinations – than any other organization in the Region.
Jeff Mann, the APT Chief Executive Officer since 2010 is to remain at Asianlogic and will therefore relinquish his role as CEO, but will continue to serve as the primary consultant to ensure a smooth transition.
“For some time now, we have been looking to pass APT to a dedicated and focused poker organization that is capable of taking the tour to the next level. With such a long and rich tradition, it was of the utmost importance that any partnership or sale would only go to an organization with the same passion and dedication to continue developing the Asian Poker Tour as we always envisioned. Frankly, I’m pumped up by what the future holds for APT.” said Mann.
Lloyd Fontillas – recognized as one of the top tournament directors in the world and a twelve-year veteran with APT – will continue in his capacity as General Manager & Executive Tournament Director with added responsibilities; as will, the entire live events team that serves under him.
Michael Soyza, partner at APT Events Private Limited, said, “Jeff (Mann) and Lloyd (Fontillas) have done a tremendous job of building the APT to where it is today. All the stakeholders, including myself, have been active participants on the APT for over a decade. We are beyond excited to work with the team and hope to reach new heights as we usher in a new era for the Asian Poker Tour.”
The next event on the Asian Poker Tour is APT Vietnam Hanoi Loyal 2022 from June 7-19 which will be held at Grand Loyal Poker Club, Grand Vista Hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam.
