Manila, Philippines, April 18, 2018 – The Asian Poker Tour (APT) has issued a statement confirming that for the upcoming APT Macau Championships 2018 there will be no association, involvement from or usage of cryptocurrency.
Clarifying recent reports, Jeff Mann – APT Chief Executive Officer said that the Tour had been considering cryptocurrency as a novel, new additional marketing tool to expand the reach and appeal of APT globally and to attract more players particularly from Europe to APT’s Asian events.
“Clearly, each APT event is different and we are mindful of local operating guidelines. I can confirm that APT Macau Championships will not be associated with cryptocurrency in any way and I apologize for any confusion in the Market,” said Mann.
The APT Macau Championships 2018 will be staged from April 25th to May 6th 2018 and a record number of players are expected to attend. At APT’s recent event held in Manila last month, 46 nationalities made up the player base and APT are expecting even more players in Macau next week.
