PASAY CITY, Philippines – The Final 8 of the opening event of the Asian Poker Tour 2022 Philippines has been revealed as the Mystery Bounty tournament is seven eliminations away from awarding a champion even as the action has hit the deep waters in the Professional Offline Poker League (POPL) Head-Hunter event here at the Grand Wing Casino, Newport World Resorts.
As expected, the Filipino contingent remains strong with six of the Final 8 representing the host nation.
However, the chip-lead belongs to Son Jangwon of Korea with 2,000,000 in holdings while the Filipinos remain within striking distance, led by tournament regular Rommel “Mao” Angeles with 1,355,000. Up and coming Filipino pro Michael Zeus Segismundo is currently bringing up the rear with 510,000 in chips, but anything can happen in the Final table and with blinds at 15,000/30,000 BB Ante 30,000, there’s still a lot of poker to be played to determine the champion and the winner of the top prize of PhP746,100.00 (US$13,037.00).
Everyone is now guaranteed PhP93,300.00 (US$1,631.00) in prize money, while thousands of pesos are still available in terms of bounties.
