PASAY CITY, Philippines – After both flights ended their sessions in the Asian Poker Tour (APT) 2022 Philippines (Event #1) Mystery Bounty, 77 of the astonishing 301 entries advanced to the finale and now vie for the a piece of the now PhP4,379,500 (US$76,565) prize pool as Day 1 of the competition wound down at the Grand Wing Casino, Newport World Resorts here.
175 entries were tallied in Flight B to join the 123 that made it through from Flight A to now battle to make it to ITM and have a shot at the PhP666,300 (US$11,648) top prize.
But what those who do make it to ITM will also aim for is to snare bounties worth PhP1,505,500 (US$26,318) with three of the sealed envelopes containing a whopping PhP259,000 (US$4,528).
Action in the Mystery Bounty resumes at 1:00PM (UCT+8).
Italy’s Enrico de Rosa emerged as the overall chip-leader with 328,000 and is hoping to improve on his previous showing of a 24th place finish in the Championships event last September and obtain his first ever APT title. Prior to the pandemic, de Rosa campaigned heavily in the European circuit.
The second spot is currently occupied by Daniyar Aubakirov of Kazakhstan with 238,000 while local bet Christopher Pasion sits at third with 206,000.
Meanwhile, the first trophy of these proceedings was handed out in (Event #2) the first Hyper Deep Stack Turbo with Japan’s Taiki Yoshimura besting a field of 35 entries for the win and PhP103,300 (US$1,806) and outlasting two Filipinos in Gilbert Molina–second for PhP63,500 (US$1,110)–and Edwin de la Cruz–third for PhP41,200 (US$720).
Day 2 of the competition promises to be quite busy with not only the Mystery Bounty finale, but also the Day 1s of (Event #3) the PhP215,000 (US$3,757) Super High-Rollers at 2:00PM as well as (Event #4) the Professional Offline Poker League (POPL) Head-Hunters tourney at 3:00PM.
A Super-Satellite to Day 1A to the Main Event is also in the offing at 6:00PM along with (Event #5) the second of the six Hyper Deep Stack Turbo tiffs happening at 10:00PM.
