TAIPEI CITY, Taiwan – In its inaugural run in this country, the intriguing Mystery Bounty (Event #1) drew 169 entries in Flight A alone with Flight B’s registration still open as action intensified in the resumption of the Asian Poker Tour (APT) here at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club); the venue for the rest of the events of this series.
NT$2,500.00 (US79.00) of the NT$8,500.00 (US$268.00) buy-in goes directly into the Bounty Pool, which means the Flight A entries came very close to hitting the NT$1M (US$31,515.00) guaranteed prize pool.
Flight B has added (as of this writing) 72 more entries and is at Level 10–two more rounds before registration officially closes–and has now put the total prize pool at around the NT1.7M (US$53,560.00) mark, toppling the original guarantee.
Local bet Hsu Yi Yang, who went deep and cashed at least five times in previous local tourneys, leads the forty runners advancing to Day 2 from Flight A with 265,000 in chips while not far behind is Israel’s Ori Kossonogi (an APT side event winner here in 2020) with 218,000. WSOP online campaigner and High-Roller mainstay Chien Chin Wei of the host nation is at third with 161,500.
