PASAY CITY, Philippines – Day 2 of the APT 2022 Philippines commenced with the remaining 99 players in the opening event–the Mystery Bounty began their slugfest while participants in the PhP215,000.00 (US$3,756.00) VIP High-Rollers (Event #2) and (Event #3) the Professional Offline Poker League (POPL) Head-Hunter tournament are well underway at the Grand Wing Casino, Newport World Resorts here.
Mystery Bounty overnight chip-leader Richard “Hot Sauce” Marquez is hoping to fend off the opposition in his quest to capture his seventh APT title and prove his mastery of this event which he took down last March while it was in its infancy stage.
There are still a number of veteran campaigners in the mix including Korea’s Jae Kyung Sim (better known in the poker community as “Simba”), twelve-time APT winner Kai Danilo Paulsen of Norway, Malaysian High-Roller specialist Victor Chong and spate of seasoned locals in World Series of Poker (WSOP) Bracelet holder Mike Takayama, eight-time APT champion John Tech, multi-titled David “Dave Spade” Erquiaga and reigning APT Manila Main Event victor Renniel Galvez.
ITM is 35 with the winner taking home PhP746,100.00 (US$13,045.00) and over PhP1.7M (US$29,773.00) in bounties including three worth PhP288,000.00 (US$5,035.00) and will be drawn once the ITM bubble has been breached.
