TAIPEI CITY, Taiwan – As the penultimate day of competition here comes to an end, (Event #18) the Monster Stack flights ended the festivities on a high note here at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club) as a total of 150 entries more than tripled 2021’s total in this tiff and serve notice that this country is experiencing an unprecedented poker rebirth.
31 more entries joined in on the action in the “Turbo” Flight B and 13 made it through to join the 28 that advanced from the earlier Flight A in the finale to be played out later (5th October) at 1:00PM (UCT+8).
Flight A had Yong Chi Huang emerge as the overall chip-leader of the whole tournament with 348,000 while Pin Hao Huang has 310,000 for a close second at the halt. Third in the session was Hua Wei Lin with 257,500.
Flight B–playing under 20-minute Blinds as opposed to the regular 30-minute levels in the afternoon affair (and with less players)–has two-time APT High-Roller champion Chang Yu Chung pacing that session with 169,000 (good for fifth overall) behind Kristof Segers of Belgium.
The 41 remaining combatants must battle to hit ITM where only the top 25 get paid with the min-cash of NT$11,100.00 (US$351.00).
They are also all eyeing the NT$253,000.00 (US$7,992.00) top prize.
Meanwhile, the last day here will feature (Event #19) the Deep Stack Hyper Turbo and the last of the NT$27k (US$850.00) High-Rollers before the curtains finally fall on this memorable staging.
