Mogi, Forsmo Lead Last 8 of Head Hunter; Cabaling Wins Ladies of Poker in APT Philippines 2015

The Head Hunter and Ladies of Poker side events highlighted the third day of the APT Philippines 2015 at the Resorts World Manila (RWM) in Pasay City, Philippines.

While the all-ladies event found its champion in Ferlyn Cabaling from the Philippines, the bounty-flavored tournament will have to wait for another day before naming its victor.

Ladies of Poker Champion, Ferlyn Cabaling

Cabaling, who won $1,940 for her first place finish, beat a field of 20 runners including Vietnam’s Nguyen Anh Dao and compatriot Giselle Raloto, who settled for second ($1,160) and and third place ($780), respectively. This is Cabaling’s fourth Ladies of Poker title after wins in the APT Asian Series Manila 2011 and 2012 and the APT Philippines 2013.

Meanwhile, the Head Hunter event with a $440 buy-in played down to the final eight players and all will be returning on Friday (April 17th) at 1:00 PM to continue the action. Hajime Mogi of Japan and Inge Forsmo of Norway will be leading the pack as all survivors try to take down the champion’s purse of $12,880.

The popular side event drew a large crowd of 175 total entries including APT regulars and former APT champions.

Spotted at the tables were Tetsuya Tsuchikawa (Japan), Simba (Korea), Kai Paulsen (Norway), Martin Gonzales (Philippines), Mike Takayama (Philippines), Lester Edoc (Philippines), Sam Razavi (United Kingdom), Victor Chong (Malaysia), Iori Yogo (Japan), John Tech (Philippines), Feng Zhao (Singapore) and Carlos Chang (Taiwan), among many others.

Action continues on Friday when the highlight tournament of the poker festivities begins with Day 1A of the APT Philippines 2015 Main Event set at 1:00 PM.
