Main Event resumes, race to the Final 8; Feng Hao and Lavar Watkins win side event trophies

The Asian Poker Tour Finale Macau 2016 lights up the poker room of the Crystal Palace in Casino Lisboa with 48 players returning for Day 3 of the Main Event. Also filling up the tables are two side events, the Monster Stack and the Deep Stack Turbo 2 event.

Main Event Day 3

The highlight tournament of the festival began four days ago and after two entry flights, it recorded 273 entries, the highest turnout for an APT Main Event this year. This brought the prize pool to a whopping HKD2,620,800 with first place earning the lion share of HKD647,300.

Entering Day 3 with the largest stack is India’s Praveen Dwarkanath with 761,000 in chips followed by China’s Lu Yunye in the second spot with 653,000 and another Chinese player, Chen Xiu, running third with 570,000 chips.

Unlike the previous day’s eight round competition, today will see them play down to the Final Table of Eight. The money round begins at 36 places. Out of the 70 players that availed of the Main Event Bubble Protection, only 9 of them are still in the running for the championship title.

Side Events on Deck

While the Main Event is running, two side events will also share the floor. The first one is the Monster Stack event with an entry fee of HKD8,800. This is one of the most highly attended events with players enjoying a very deep stack combined with thirty minute blinds. This event is scheduled to run for two days. Cards are in the air at 2pm.

The next event is the Deep Stack Turbo 2 event which begins at 6pm. Buy-in is HKD1,100.
