Main Event breaches 15M guarantee; John Tech bags a big stack; registration closes one hour into Day 2; complete chip counts inside

Big turnout at APT Philippines 2022 with 211 pouring in Resorts World Manila for a seat at MAIN EVENT Day 1B. Combined with the 121 Day 1A entries, the event amassed 332 entries to break past the Php 15M guarantee. The pot has now swelled over Php 16.1 Million and will grow further with registration still open for one final hour in Day 2. We will have the official prize pool and payouts for you once that closes. For all you weekend warriors, rail birds, and fence-sitters, this is your last chance to get in the action. Registration closes at exactly 1:10pm on Sunday, May 1, which is at the start of Level 11. Buy in is Php 55,000. Starting stack is 25,000. Day 2 opening blinds is Level 10: 400 – 800 – 800 BB Ante.

Briefly reviewing Day 1B, nearly half the field survived with 104 players advancing to Day 2. Among the biggest stacks was 2015 APT Main Event champion John Tech putting him fourth overall.  Other notable players qualifying in this heat were Christopher Mateo, Feng Zhao, Alecz Chan, Mike Takayama, Iori Yogo, and series High Roller side event winners William Teoh and Ahmed Ibrahimi. Combined with Day 1A qualifiers, a total of 162 players will return on Sunday, May 1. UK’s Dan Trett will carry in the overall lead with 167,000 bagged up in Day 1A.
