Main Event Day 2 Flight A’s 194 players begin tussle for Day 3 qualification

HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam – With the scheduled Side Events cancelled, the focus is solely on making it to Day 3 as the first 194 of the 289 who advanced to Day 2 via qualifying from the Day 1 sessions now buck down in this “freeze-out” Day 2A of the APT Vietnam Ho Chi Minh VND6B (US$258,000.00) GTD Main Event at the Saigon Poker Club here.

Due the tremendous influx of participants, the Main Event prize pool has now skyrocketed and more than doubled to over VND12.3B (more than US$530,000.00) owing to 641 entries in the three Day 1 sessions.

Players busting out before the end of Level 10 will be allowed to re-enter in tonight’s Day 2 Flight B that begins at 6:30PM (UCT+7) as long as they secure a Re-Entry Slip from the dealer as soon as they get eliminated. They cannot re-enter in this same session, hence the “freeze out” nature of Day 2 Flight A.

Later on, the 95 runners who advanced from Day 1C will be joined by those who are still opting to churn out the VND22M (US$946.00) buy-in for their final opportunity to join the Day 3 cast.

Heading into Day 2 Flight A, Vietnam’s Ngo Van Dat holds the lead with 208,200 while American Tom Tran has 199,990 and Manot Pentakota of India is third with 189,800. All three gentlemen advanced from Day 1A.
