Welcome to MAIN EVENT Day 2 of APT Taiwan 2019 taking place at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association aka CTP Club.
The Asian Poker Tour‘s featured tournament attracted 255 entries over the three starting days and with each one contributing the TWD 33,000 buy-in, it easily breached the advertised TWD 6 million guarantee. Registration is still open for one final hour today which means the pot will continue to grow. Once it closes, we will have the official prize pool posted. Main Event Day 1C recap
The last starting day dragged in the largest field of 123 entries to bring the combined tally to 255. At the end of the scheduled nine rounds of play, only 65 survived. Taiwan’s Chien Fa Chou bagged up 128,800 which was more than enough to overtake Day 1B leader, Hwang Sang Yeon (116,500) for the overall chip lead entering Day 2.
Other notable players making the cut in this heat were decorated APT major title-holders: Iori Yogo, Mike Takayama, Yo Hwan Lim, Graeme Siow, and Park Yu “Sparrow” Cheung. Also advancing was APT Taiwan defending champion, Hong Kong’s Cliff Chow.
